New Year New Menu!

This week our techs are headed to Tampa to learn about the new 2010 menu items. We will be introducing some new menu items that have affordable pricing for our customers. Some of the new items to come are a Stuffed Shrimp App, Roasted Pork Tenderloin, Shrimp En Fuego, and Roasted Filet Tenderloin along with some new combinations of outback favorites. It will be important that each Outbacker understands the rationale behind these new items and changes on our menu so they can inform our customers when they come to the Outback. Information will start coming your way soon, so look out for it and be ready to have a great roll-out to our staff.

Happy New Year!

Well it is 2009 already, can hardly believe it myself. 2008 ended on a real positive note with a busy New Years Eve. Compared to last year’s New Year Eve, our area was only down $133 which is 0.06%. Great job in Fresno, they were up over 20% and Sacramento 2 was up over 10%. We had five restaurants that were positive. Fremont, Gold River and Cupertino join Fresno and Sac 2 in the positive sales category. Congratulations to everyone in ending 2008 on a positive note.
At this writing the Outback bowl has just ended and it was a rout this year. Iowa beating up South Carolina 31 to 10. Do you know who the roommate of the head coach of South Carolina was when he was a freshman in college?
Enjoy all the football and parades today!

Pizza?

There are pizza pans showing up at a few Outbacks these days. So the question is, why? As we all are aware of we change many plates through out a shift. A few years ago, a KM in Arizona decided to have his cooks put the food on pizza pans instead of plates. The benefits of this were:
1 It insured that plate presentations were at their best because each plate had to be changed over.
2 Pizza pans don’t break and plates were handled and washed half as much which lowered the possibility of breakage.
3 Pizza pans weigh one tenth of what a plate does which the dishwashers definitely appreciate
4 A pizza pan cost one fifth the amount of a plate and never breaks.
Now being a bit slow and old, it took aus a while to get this in place and so far it has had positive responses from the Outbacks that are using them. Feel free to call Roseville, Fremont and Pleasant Hill. So look for pizza pans to be in your Outback, only if you want to. Here is a look see.

My Birthday is Officially Over

As most of you know my birthday is actually after Christmas. And just like most of you, there was a small Birthday celebration at the house with just the Mrs. and our joey’s. My children wanted me to share the wonderful gift they gave me for my 50th. So here is the picture of myself with my gift and looking every bit of 50. I’m so proud of my kids!!! And on that note I’d like to proclaim my birthday is officially over forever.

Naughty or Nice

It seems Toby has decided to try and be nice this year by making friends with Santa. I guess he didn’t take well to the lump of coal he received last year.

Remember last year when he was a bit naughty with Santa.
